Well, whaddya know... all my recent purchases are vintage and the total sum is still less than one retail handbag.
That being said, nothing feels better than scoring a good deal on eBay. In this case, a damn good deal. I spent hours and sleepless nights researching everything there is to know about Celine vintage handbags but to no avail (not even Wiki). I only had past auction listings as reference (including my recent Celine purchase a few months ago), and even so, they weren't very helpful. So, it wasn't a surprise that when I found an almost-prestine vintage Celine 'Horse Carriage' Box handbag, I immediately bought it ("buy now"). It is, afterall, the predecessor to the famed Celine Classic Box Handbag.
I was worried that it was too good to be true (as anything is on eBay), but it wasn't. It was near-perfect. No "nutmeg" odor or rips. Just some minor stratches that are hardly noticeable. I'm happy. Not only because it's a great find but because I didn't pay a hell of a lot for it.
